Who is this person?

I began riding lessons on my seventh birthday after a lifetime of begging and strategically failing at every other sport my parents tried to placate me with. At that riding lesson, I realized that horses are big and a bit scary. Still, after making this much of a fuss over getting riding lessons in the first place, I would not turn back.

I spent my junior career flailing through the Hunter/Jumper world. My lack of spatial awareness combined with a gangly (but worth his weight in gold) OTTB meant that my career did not get off to an auspicious start. Happily, I then discovered dressage, where one can (usually) flail without the threat of impending death by fence.

After getting my B.S. in Equine Studies from the University of New Hampshire, I took on a working student position for international FEI rider Lauren Sprieser in Marshall, VA. This was my introduction to Big, Expensive Dressage Horses. After two years in this position, I moved on to a working student position with another international dressage rider, Lauren Chumley. For four years, I learned to ride horses ranging from green to Grand Prix, trained my project mare to the FEI (earning my USDF Silver medal), and even did some eventing!

So, What’s your Style?

My program is for horses and riders of all abilities and ages. I believe that all goals can be achieved with a little (or a lot) of humor and a solid foundation. No goal is too small, no horse too weird!

Why Enbarr?

In Celtic mythology, Enbarr is the horse of the Irish sea god “Mannan Mac Lir”. I chose it memory of two influential Irish sailors in my life; my dad, Edward Finn who passed away in 2023, and my grandfather, Jack Finn, who passed in 2022. Both led their personal and professional lives with humor, compassion, and a strong ethical compass.
